Psilocybin Training Retreat Oregon State

Psychedelic Therapy is a reemerging paradigm of care for mental health.

With new growing research showing clinically significant results in the effective treatment of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, addictions, and even the betterment of well people - an increasing number of practitioners are being asked to assist their clients in harm reduction, preparation, and integration work with psychedelic medicines. Experiential training is an essential training experience for wellness practitioners who wish to engage with clients who have used psychedelics or those that have trained as facilitators of psychedelic experiences. It is also an ideal training for medical practitioners interested in gaining insight into psychedelic assisted healing.

Most facilitator programs approved by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) are cost prohibitive at $10-18k per program and a year commitment.

This training was developed as a practicum experience, specifically for medical and mental health professionals interested in understanding the essential skills for providing safe, ethical, and transformative psychedelic preparation and integration. It will help prepare participants with the knowledge and skills needed to begin a path towards practicing psychedelic therapy, with special focus on integration and the lens of nature.

This is NOT an OHA approved psilocybin facilitator training. Instead, it is a more affordable, less time constraining experiential option for those hoping to be as informed as possible about safe, ethical, harm reducing preparation and integration work - because we know that practitioners without training have clients asking for support with their personal psychedelic experiences.

How is this training unique?

  • The primary focus of this training is on the art of psychedelic integration and therapy - and exploring the experiences of interconnectedness and ecological themes that often manifest in psychedelic states. We use the lens of nature, in nature, remembering that we are nature.

  • Curriculum dedicated to giving you an overview of the current research in psychedelic science and the historical landscape of psychedelic medicine work. This also includes an overview of research exploring ecological and spiritual themes often experienced in psychedelic states.

  • This training includes two optional ketamine experiences for participants who meet criteria for the current accepted practices. For those that opt out or do not meet criteria, there are breathwork experiences throughout the retreat that we believe will serve as a powerful way to connect with the spirit of altered states of consciousness.

  • We help you gain experience with integration in a small group setting; cultivate forms of nonverbal integration processes through the use of music, movement/dance, writing, meditation, breathwork and other practices.

  • Our embodied practice as educators comes with a commitment to social and environmental justice, harm reduction, fluency in emerging ethical guidelines, and in incorporating both ancient wisdom and modern science.

  • Curriculum is informed by our belief that we all have a responsibility to protect/repair our environment and in the importance of being well informed about “benefit sharing” with indigenous communities who are the original stewards of psychedelic medicine work.

  • This learning experience happens in a nature immersive environment, where participants feel the benefits of intimacy with nature while expanding professional knowledge in an increasingly popular area of study: psychedelic science and ecowellness.

What is integration?

Integration is a process in which a person engages in making sense of, translating, and processing the content of their psychedelic experience. Integration helps individuals to incorporate the emergent lessons and insights from their psychedelic experience - into their lives, in ways that can lead to profound and sustained change. This integration training focuses on integration from an ecological lens - amplifying the interconnectedness of self, others, and the natural world.

Psychedelic experiences can involve complex psycho-spiritual (mystical) experiences, integration is the necessary work that individuals must undertake to foster continuous and lasting healing.

Integration is one of the most important components to making psychedelic assisted healing work safe and effective.

Licensed Professional Counselor and Counselor Educator
Plant medicine education training retreat in central Oregon

Sabrina Hadeed, PhD, LPC

Dr. Sabrina Hadeed finished her B.A. in Psychology in 2001 and then went on to complete her master’s degree in Existential-phenomenological Psychology at Seattle University in 2006 and her Ph.D. at Oregon State University in Counseling with a major in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2016.

Dr. Hadeed spent nearly 7 years of her 20 year career in the mental health field as an outdoor educator and nature based therapist. During which time, she spent an estimated 15,000 hours in the wilderness, 5,000 of which were in the remote wilderness for 23 day stretches. These experiences deepened her understanding of the wisdom and power of living to the rhythm of the natural world - amplifying internal strengths and limiting beliefs, as well as, the need for trust and interdependence in others and nature itself. She experienced awe, curiosity, humility, and the existential potency of knowing our place within a larger ecosystem. This ultimately led to the inspiration for the development of this training.

Since completing her PhD, she has served as an adjunct professor for Oregon State University and Montana State University. Notably, at MSU she has been a contributing instructor for 6 years in the graduate online Addiction Counseling Certification Program.

Dr. Hadeed was honored with an “Emerging Leader Award” by the Association for Counselor Educators in 2015. And emerge she has, using her drive to empower others, creating opportunities for meaningful change, promoting diversity, and maintaining alignment with the notion that there is always more to learn and blindspots to examine (shadow work). In her leadership roles, she maintains a commitment to non-hierarchical models of leadership - which promote collaboration, inclusivity, and empowerment. She is passionate about using her voice to educate and inspire. Honoring this, she has presented at national and regional conferences throughout her career and has authored several professional online articles and contributed to a peer reviewed article with the co-facilitator of this training, Dr. Ryan Reese, which was published in The Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning.

Dr. Hadeed was also the founder of the group practice, Bend Ecotherapy, in 2018 before she shifted her focus in 2021 to a private practice. Her practice currently focuses on providing medicine retreats, intensive therapeutic workshops, supervision/education, and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.

She completed her Psychedelic Assisted Therapy training program with Inbodied Life (led by Lauren Taus) and was later honored with an apprenticeship, as a part of the Inbodied team, helping to facilitate the training. She has also completed trainings in Psychedelic Leadership (from Laura Dawn), ketamine assisted psychotherapy (from Fluence), and is in the process of completing her psilocybin facilitator training with Inner Trek. She is a certified Breathwork Teacher (through Jon Paul Crimi’s Breathe Program) and a yoga instructor. Dr. Hadeed maintains credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (OR), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (WA), National Certified Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor.

Her enthusiasm as an eco- psychedelic science educator and enthusiast is greatly influenced by her experiences in nature both personally and professionally, as well as, the amazing human and plant teachers that continue to inspire her.

In her private time, she is most at home in her role as a mother to two spirited little girls, her most sacred teachers.

Our Beloved Medical Team

Dr. Emma and Derek Andre eco-psychedelic integration training
psychedelic science training retreat facilitators

Emma Andre, ND & Derek Andre, ND

Doctors Emma and Derek Andre are a dynamic husband and wife team of naturopathic physicians and the owners of Medicine Within, offering cutting-edge ketamine therapy and natural medicine for mental health in Oregon.

A guiding principle of their naturopathic medical education is that the human body possesses an innate healing ability.

They have been complementing one another for a combined 32 years in the healthcare industry. They both completed their doctorates at the National University of Natural Medicine. However, they observed in clinical practice that quite often the cause of health problems actually have their roots in the mental, emotional, and even spiritual planes. This motivated them to dedicate the last decade of their ongoing medical training to mind-body medicine, which included training in Holistic Counseling and training with the Polaris Insights Institute for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.

Dr. Emma is also certified in Applied Kinesiology and has pursued extensive training in classical homeopathy.

Dr. Derek trained with Ochs Labs and used LENS Neurofeedback in his private practice for 8 years.

They believe that every person has the potential to create a life with peace, joy, and connection when healing is rooted in the wisdom that lives within each of us. Through genuine human connection, a holistic approach, and learning to listen to and trust the body, they help people transform their health and their experience of life.

  • Dr. Rosalind Watts

Dr Watts is a clinical psychologist, a mother, and a nature lover. Her work as the Clinical Lead for Imperial College London’s psilocybin trial has made her one of the most prominent voices and minds in the field of psychedelic research.

Dr Watts builds tools and structures to foster connectedness after psychedelic experiences, finding inspiration for their design from nature. Through all her work, Rosalind's main learning has been that safe and effective use of psychedelics requires substantial integration support. As a result, she co-founded the UK's first psychedelic integration group, and in 2022 launched ACER (‘Accept, Connect, Embody, Restore’) Integration - a global online integration community where participants follow a 13-month process together to connect more deeply to the self, others, and nature.
